DOES JOHN MCCAIN THINK WOMEN ARE STUPID?

Because I find nothing but insult in the argument that disaffected Clinton supporters will vote for McCain simply because he picked a woman for the VP slot. Let's not even discuss the fact that she appears to be even less qualified for the office than Harriet Miers was for the Supreme Court. Seriously. It's certainly a role of the dice, but I wonder whether the Republican operatives are on acid.

I've been "working" at home today, and have gotten close to nothing done thanks to this insane announcement.

I, too, caught a whiff of Harriet Miers when I saw this woman speak! My husband didn't see it, but I maintain my position, especially now that I'm not the only one.

I've been wondering this all day. Does he really think we don't know that all women are not exactly the same? It is exactly like Harriet Myers. I wonder if he'll take it back next week.

I definitely question the old man's choice, and while his pick smells a little like Harriet Miers, I don't think they are exactly the same. A Supreme Court Justice is just as powerful as the eight other justices. A vice president, on the other hand, really doesn't have any official responsibility aside from breaking ties in the senate, and there probably aren't going to be many ties over the next few years. So, unlike a Supreme Court justice, who must be ready to go from day one, a vice president can actually learn on the job because she only must do whatever the president assigns her to do. With that stated, this woman better be really smart. The whole "I was just a hockey mom a few years ago" thing did not play well with me. I don't want ordinary people occupying the White House anymore. I want SUPER SMART folks. Obama is CLEARLY super smart, but like Palin, he lacks a lot of experience. McCain and Biden are not geniuses, but they've been around long enough, that they know their stuff, or at least the stuff that is more important than other things. I'm glad Romney and Pawlenty weren't selected, but I definitely wonder about Palin. I agree with the three of you that it's an insult to women to assume you will vote for McCain just because some woman is on his ticket. But, I'm waiting to see how she does over the next few weeks. Then I think we'll really know if she's more like Dan Quayle or not.

God, if we've learned ANYTHING in the last 8 years, I hope it's that we should all want ONLY super smart people in the White House.
